Relax, take a break, and walk your feet around Malioboro is a must do while you are in Yogyakarta. It is essential to find a stay as close as possible to the Malioboro area. Yup, this time I had a staycation which located very close to the Malioboro area, at Ibis Styles Yogyakarta. Right in this hotel, I could get the true feels of being a tourist which comes from outside of Yogyakarta. It is the exact time to boost my mood by relaxing and travels around.
Ibis Styles Yogyakarta located at Jl. Dagen No. 109 Yogyakarta. It’s so close to Malioboro, you need just around 5 minutes to walk there. Besides, the hotel is also located near Tugu Yogyakarta Railway Station and Bakpia Pathuk factories. Ibis Styles Yogyakarta bring the theme of “Happy Mood in Style”, it is seen by the colors of interior and furnitures used by them. You could see the colors pops in every corner around. Right in the lobby, there are aesthetic spots that you could use to take some pics, like the cute egg-shaped chair.
Aside from the lobby, their room also got the similar mood. It is filled with bright cheerful colors that will bring joys to you. Ibis Styles Yogyakarta had rooms with a quite big window, so could see how vast Yogyakarta is from it. The unique thing is, they got you an i-pod dock in the room to plays music in the room. Before being Ibis Styles Yogyakarta, this hotel was named after Four Season Hotel. Ibis Hotel itself got 3 types of hotel—Ibis Hotel with its red logo, Ibis Styles which had the green one, and Ibis Budget that had a blue logo. Ibis Style got a different style from one to another, which make it unique.
This hotel got an interesting spot named as Dskybar. It is the first ever rooftop bar in the city of Yogyakarta. Located on the 7th floor, they will serve you light meals just like bakso, teppanyaki, pizza, various kind of pasta, sliced fruit, and ice cream. Dskybar is a marvelous place to enjoy sunset around Malioboro. They offer “Sunset Hour” all you can eat buffet package for you who wants to enjoy the sunset. The package is served every Monday to Wednesday, from 4 pm to 8 pm. It will cost you as low as IDR 75k per person.
Beside Dskybar, there’s also a pool on the 7th floor so you could enjoy the city view and sunset as you swim. Dskybar also offers a signature dish beside the sunset package while you are in the pool, named as Styles Pizzaria. The pizza got 10 variants of topping, which one of them is rendang—the special one. The pool is also a great place to take some nice pics.
The Ibis Styles Yogyakarta also got a restaurant named sTreaTs Resto which located on their 1st floor, next to the lobby. They offer nusantara menu and western menu. If you are a fan of all you can eat package, it will the exact place to come since they offer “Power of Lunch” all you can eat lunch package which served every Monday to Friday from 12 am to 2 pm for IDR 69k/pax.
Even on staycation, jobs will always pop and need to be finished. In a calm and cozy place like this hotel, accompanied by their colorful surroundings, they got you a small meeting room with the capacity of thirty people. If it isn’t big enough, Ibis Style Yogyakarta can provide you another meeting room which can accommodate as much as 240 people.
If you hear things about Yogyakarta, some of them must be batik or bakpia. But this time I won’t discuss that two famous souvenirs. I’ll share you about another souvenir you could get in the city. And, yeah, it is located near Ibis Style Yogyakarta, in the area of Pathuk. As I walk around Pathuk, a black nice building caught my attention—Cakenya Hudson. If you follow the talent show of Indonesia’s TV, you must be aware of the name of Hudson. Hudson is now managing a souvenir cake shop named as Cakenya Hudson, located at Jl Karel Sasuit Tubun 52, Ngampilan, Yogyakarta. Cakenya Hudson is an improvised version of traditional tapai cake. Cakenya Hudson create variants of tapai cake with different toppings and fillings. The variant varies from Prunes, Chocolate Cheese, Brown Cheese, and Raisin. You should give it a try since it is so delicious and unique. To be honest, I could finish a box of it in a night only without leaving any trace.
You’re counted as haven’t come to Yogyakarta if you haven’t pay a visit to Malioboro Area. Go spend your evening around here since Malioboro area is now more comfortable for the pedestrian. Besides wandering around and spends money on souvenirs, you could also do some photo hunt since it got many interesting sites. Try to walk your feet from the tip of Malioboro until the Zero point of Yogyakarta, so you could see faces of the city—which definitely will make you miss Yogyakarta so dearly.
As I travel around Malioboro, I was sent there by the rent car provided by Ibis Styles Yogyakarta. Their office is right next to the lobby. Their service was excellent. Their nice driver will make the trip filled with more joy.
Ibis Style Yogyakarta is one of the hotels of Accor Hotel. Accor Hotel itself had a membership system called Le Club Accor Hotels. You’ll get many benefits as you use Le Club Accor Hotels if you are frequently staying at hotels provided by them like Pullman, Novotel, Ibis, Sofitel, and so on. You’ll get points as you stay which could be exchanged into many interesting offerings.
