Novotel Solo Review
Weekend is coming! This time I spent my weekend staying at Novotel Solo. As soon as I finished work, I immediately went to Novotel Solo by Jogja-Solo train. It is located on Jl. Slamet Riyadi, not far from the Balapan Solo train station.
Upon entering the hotel lobby, I was immediately carried away by my admiration for the reception background at Novotel Solo, which is an array of various accessories commonly used in traditional Javanese clothes. Yup, I was so impressed that I could stare at it for a long time and feel passionate about taking pictures there.
After checking in, I went to the hotel room to have a rest. The room is comfortably clean and warm yet soft with a combination of white, wood brown, and some green. The room light is good; those who like taking pictures should not worry about lighting. Another special thing is that there is a sofa in the room and it is enough to make me feel more comfortable being in a hotel room.
After resting for a while, I took a walk around the hotel then decided to spend my afternoon at the Novotel Solo swimming pool. Anyway, Novotel Solo has 2 swimming pools, one near Andrawina restaurant (connecting Ibis Solo and Novotel Solo) and the other one is located in another part of the hotel which is more private yet smaller. This afternoon I chose to spend my time by the swimming pool which is more private, accompanied by fresh fruit slices because I needed tranquility to enjoy my weekend.
The sky was getting dark, so I went back to the room to wash up, change clothes then continued having dinner at Andrawina Restaurant. Andrawina Restaurant has an outdoor section, a part of the Novotel Solo swimming pool. Every morning, breakfast is also served at Andrawina Restaurant. Imagine the cozy atmosphere of having breakfast by the swimming pool. Tonight I had the chance to taste the specialty course from Andrawina Restaurant, Ayam and Bebek Andrawina. This menu is served with 3 kinds of chili sauce to accompany the tender fried chicken and fried duck cooked with Indonesian spices. The aroma is even more tantalizing as there are quite a lot of petai for petai lovers.
Besides, Novotel Solo has a bar named Saraswati Bar. In addition, there is a wine shop selling a variety of wines, starting from IDR 750k. Novotel Solo also has a spacious Suite room. There is a living room, a bathtub, a coffee maker and executive lounge facilities. There are also other facilities such as the gym, the laundry, the Kids Corner and the spa named In Balance Spa.
Overall, this hotel is comfortable, located in the downtown with complete facilities. The room is so cozy that you feel reluctant to leave the hotel at night, especially during the recent time when the weather is cold. Thank you Novotel Solo for this weekend and see you again!
